The Challenge
Budd & Co runs two Seattle shops under one brand. Each needed to rank and convert in its own neighborhood, but running two disconnected websites meant every price change, holiday hour and new service had to be entered twice — and the two sites drifted apart every time someone forgot.
The Solution
PISTn moved Budd & Co onto an integrated site: one branded parent site with a full location site beneath it for the Rainier and MLK shops. Design, navigation and online booking are shared from the parent, while each location controls its own hours, staff, services and offers.
The Results
Both shops now publish under one brand with individually addressable local pages. The site carries 4,877 customer records and has issued 5,007 coupons, and a change to shared content reaches both locations at once.
How the site is put together
- Shared from the parent site. Design, navigation and online booking, set once for both shops.
- Owned by each shop. Hours, staff, services and offers for Rainier and MLK, each on its own local site.
- One place to make a change. Update shared content once and both locations have it.
The trouble with two websites
Two shops with two disconnected websites means every price change, holiday hour and new service gets entered twice, and sooner or later someone forgets. Then the sites disagree, and a customer reads one set of hours on one site and a different set on the other. Putting both shops on one integrated site removes the second copy, so there is nothing left to drift.
What the numbers say
The site carries 4,877 customer records across both shops and has issued 5,007 coupons, more than one for every customer on file.
What another owner can take from this
Opening a second location should not double the work of running your website. Share what is the same, separate what is local, and let each shop compete in its own neighborhood.
